Electrician

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Electrician or in a similar electrical maintenance role.
  • Vocational Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation, Electrical Technology, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, motors, lighting, control panels, and electrical safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Skilled in using electrical testing instruments, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance and electrical repair procedures.
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, or under varying working conditions when required.
  • Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, lighting systems, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and electrical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
  • Diagnose electrical faults using testing instruments and repair defective components.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Install and connect electrical panels, control systems, motors, and other electrical devices.
  • Inspect electrical systems and identify potential hazards or maintenance requirements.
  • Replace damaged wiring, electrical fixtures, circuit breakers, fuses, and related components.
  • Test electrical installations to verify proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and report completed repairs to supervisors.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of electrical tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow workplace health, safety, and electrical regulations at all times.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance personnel during installation, repair, and maintenance projects.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
  • Perform other electrical maintenance duties assigned by management.
