DYNAMIC BALANCING TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.
• At least a high school graduate.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical testing of motors, generators, and rotating equipment.
• Knowledge of insulation resistance, winding resistance, continuity, vibration, and other diagnostic testing.
• Familiarity with dynamic balancing, rotor and armature repair, and rotating-equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of motor winding, coil manufacturing, coil insertion, lacing, tying, brazing, and soldering.
• Ability to accurately take and record technical measurements and winding specifications.
• Ability to identify electrical, mechanical, vibration, and alignment problems.
• Able to safely operate electrical testing instruments, balancing equipment, and related workshop tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate testing and quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on technical work.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct electrical and mechanical testing of motors, generators, and other rotating equipment.
• Perform insulation resistance, winding resistance, continuity, vibration, and other diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, vibration, alignment, and balancing problems in rotating equipment.
• Perform dynamic balancing of rotors, armatures, and other rotating components using appropriate balancing equipment.
• Measure and record winding dimensions, wire sizes, number of turns, connections, and coil configurations.
• Inspect motor and generator windings to identify defects, damage, or abnormal conditions.
• Manufacture and install replacement coils and windings according to technical specifications.
• Perform coil insertion, lacing, tying, brazing, soldering, and related winding activities.
• Ensure replacement coils and windings are properly installed, connected, secured, and insulated.
• Perform rotor and armature repairs and maintenance.
• Inspect and maintain commutators and slip rings as required.
• Conduct electrical tests after repair or rewinding work to verify equipment condition and performance.
• Perform high-potential testing when applicable and according to approved procedures.
• Check equipment alignment and identify conditions that may contribute to excessive vibration.
• Record test results, measurements, repair details, and equipment conditions accurately.
• Use electrical testing instruments, vibration measuring equipment, balancing machines, and other workshop tools safely.
• Follow technical drawings, specifications, repair procedures, and manufacturer requirements.
• Maintain tools, testing equipment, workstations, and repair areas in clean and safe condition.
• Follow company safety procedures and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, technicians, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel during testing and repair activities.
• Report major defects, abnormal test results, and additional repair requirements to the supervisor.
• Perform other electrical, mechanical, balancing, and rotating-equipment maintenance duties as assigned.
