DISHWASHER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
• At least High School Graduate.
• Previous experience as a Dishwasher, Kitchen Steward, Utility Worker, or similar hospitality position is preferred.
• Knowledge of proper dishwashing, sanitation, cleaning, and kitchen hygiene procedures.
• Ability to safely operate commercial dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment.
• Capable of thoroughly cleaning chinaware, silverware, glassware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
• Ability to scrub and handle heavy cookware and maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area.
• Good understanding of safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and sanitation products.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods, lifting heavy pots and supplies, bending, and performing repetitive cleaning tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen and maintain cleanliness during busy service periods.
• Can communicate in basic English with supervisors, chefs, and coworkers.
• Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and able to follow instructions and established safety procedures.
• Strong commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, teamwork, and maintaining a positive hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize all chinaware, silverware, glassware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate commercial dishwashers and other cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Manually wash, scrub, rinse, and sanitize items that require special cleaning or cannot be processed through the dishwasher.
• Scrub pots, pans, trays, and other heavy-duty cookware thoroughly.
• Polish silverware and other metal service items to maintain a clean and presentable appearance.
• Sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment and return them to their proper storage areas.
• Ensure adequate supplies of clean dishes, utensils, and cookware are available for kitchen and dining service.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dishwashing areas, kitchen floors, sinks, counters, and surrounding workspaces.
• Remove food waste, garbage, and other debris from dishwashing and kitchen areas according to established procedures.
• Handle cleaning chemicals, detergents, sanitizers, and equipment safely and according to instructions.
• Inspect cleaned items for food residue, stains, grease, or damage and rewash or report items when necessary.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation tasks when required.
• Support chefs and other kitchen personnel by ensuring clean equipment and utensils are available during busy service periods.
• Properly store cleaning supplies and maintain dishwashing tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Report damaged dishes, utensils, equipment problems, supply shortages, or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Follow proper food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning chemicals, hot water, equipment, or heavy cookware.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the shift.
• Perform other cleaning, dishwashing, kitchen support, and sanitation duties assigned by management.
