Rumai 18 Ltd is hiring Construction Project Engineers for deployment to Papua New Guinea. The position is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and managing construction projects to ensure completion within schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Must be a qualified and registered Civil Engineer.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in project site management or at least 3+ years of field experience in commercial, residential, or civil construction projects.
- Candidates must be between 28 to 35 years old.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering design software.
- Experience using Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other project management software.
- Knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, cost control, and project coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Construction Safety Certification is required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Experience in commercial buildings, residential developments, infrastructure, or civil works projects.
- Strong background in project controls, scheduling, and construction management software.
- Knowledge of contract administration and project cost management is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise construction projects from planning through completion.
- Coordinate daily site activities and ensure work is performed according to project specifications.
- Prepare and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software.
- Review engineering drawings, plans, and technical documents for project implementation.
- Monitor project progress, costs, resources, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, and technical documentation.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to construction safety procedures and company policies.
- Assist in procurement planning, material management, and resource allocation.
- Support project close-out activities and final project documentation.
