CHILLER TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in chiller maintenance and servicing.
- Male applicants are preferred.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Minimum HNTEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with chillers, refrigeration systems, pumps, cooling towers, compressors, valves, and related equipment.
- Strong electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration troubleshooting skills.
- Good problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to read basic technical drawings, manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Knowledge of refrigerant charging and leak detection procedures.
- Able to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of working at different sites and in demanding conditions.
- Willing to work overtime and respond to emergency breakdowns when required.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and technically competent.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair chiller systems and related equipment.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system faults.
- Monitor chiller performance, operating conditions, and system efficiency.
- Inspect and maintain compressors, pumps, cooling towers, valves, and other chiller components.
- Perform refrigerant checks, charging, and leak detection when required.
- Troubleshoot system failures and carry out necessary repairs.
- Respond to chiller breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements.
- Conduct testing, commissioning, and operational checks of chiller systems.
- Inspect electrical connections, controls, motors, sensors, and related components.
- Read and interpret basic technical drawings, manuals, equipment specifications, and service documentation.
- Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, and equipment histories.
- Identify potential equipment problems and recommend preventive maintenance solutions.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are properly maintained.
- Follow company safety procedures, site requirements, and applicable workplace standards.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians during maintenance activities.
- Perform other chiller, refrigeration, and maintenance duties as assigned.
