Summit Homes Group is offering an overseas employment opportunity for an experienced Cabinet Maker in Australia. The successful applicant should have strong skills in reading technical drawings, cutting and shaping wood, assembling cabinetry, installing hardware, and fitting custom cabinets and furniture. Candidates should be familiar with various wood products, hand and power tools, and CNC machinery.

CABINET MAKER

Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work orders, and specifications.
Experience cutting, shaping, and routing wood using hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery.
Knowledge of solid timber, veneers, particleboard, MDF, and synthetic wood panels.
Skills in assembling cabinets and furniture frames and installing hinges, locks, catches, drawers, and shelves.
Experience fitting and installing kitchens, vanities, wardrobes, office fittings, or commercial cabinetry.
Ability to repair, restore, and refinish furniture and cabinetry.
Good attention to detail, accuracy, and workmanship.
Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Must possess a driver’s licence and be able to drive a four-wheeled vehicle.
Candidates must be at least graduates of a four-year undergraduate course.
High school graduates must be willing to take the IELTS or PTE examination.

Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work orders, and sample parts to determine dimensions, specifications, and design requirements.
Measure, mark out, cut, shape, and route wood and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery.
Select and work with solid timber, veneers, particleboard, medium-density fibreboard (MDF), and synthetic wood panels.
Assemble cabinet sections, furniture frames, shelves, drawers, and other cabinetry components.
Install and fit hardware, including hinges, locks, catches, drawer runners, and shelving systems.
Manufacture, fit, and install custom kitchens, bathroom vanities, wardrobes, office fittings, and commercial shop fittings.
Carry out cabinet-making and installation work in workshops and at job sites as required.
Repair, restore, and refinish damaged or worn furniture and cabinetry.
Inspect finished products to ensure accurate measurements, proper assembly, quality workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
Maintain tools and equipment and follow workplace health and safety procedures.
