BUS MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Bus Mechanic working on buses, coaches, or commercial passenger vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Diesel engines
  • Brake systems
  • Suspension systems
  • Air-conditioning systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Preventative maintenance for heavy vehicles
• Ability to diagnose faults, perform repairs, and carry out servicing efficiently.
• Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Must know how to drive with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, service, and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension systems in heavy vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using manual and computer-based diagnostic tools.
• Replace or repair worn and damaged parts according to manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct routine maintenance, lubrication, and system adjustments.
• Perform welding, fabrication, or machining work as required for repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records and report findings to supervisors.
• Ensure all work complies with Australian road safety and workplace health regulations.
• Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime and meet operational schedules.s
