arpenter Shipping Agencies Solomon Island Limited is seeking an experienced and results-driven Branch Manager to lead the overall operations, commercial performance, and administrative functions of its branch office. The successful candidate will oversee vessel operations, customer service, sales, documentation, port coordination, and office administration while ensuring compliance with company policies, maritime regulations, and international shipping standards. This leadership role requires strong management capabilities, strategic planning skills, and extensive experience in the shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, or port operations industry.

Branch Manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in Shipping agency operations, Freight forwarding, Port operations Or a similar maritime logistics environment
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify and develop business opportunities.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain excellent customer relationships through regular client visits and business follow-ups.
  • Experience in process management, branch management, and operational leadership.
  • Strong negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Vessel operations, Shipping agency services, Customer service, Shipping documentation, Office administration
  • In-depth understanding of shipping agency operations and maritime logistics.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations and overall performance of the branch office.
  • Manage vessel operations, including vessel scheduling, port coordination, cargo handling, and turnaround activities.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of shipping agency, freight forwarding, and logistics services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve branch revenue, profitability, and business growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, shipping lines, port authorities, customs officials, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships, identify business opportunities, and follow up on prospective clients.
  • Supervise customer service activities to ensure prompt and professional handling of client inquiries and operational requirements.
  • Oversee shipping documentation, cargo documentation, customs documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all branch activities comply with company policies, international shipping regulations, and local maritime requirements.
  • Prepare operational, financial, and performance reports for senior management.
  • Manage branch budgets, operating expenses, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate branch personnel while promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and operational arrangements with customers, suppliers, and business partners.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with head office and regional management regarding operational performance, business development, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure effective office administration, document management, and internal process compliance.
  • Handle operational issues, customer concerns, and service disruptions professionally and efficiently.
  • Perform other leadership and management responsibilities assigned by senior management.
