Job Location: Papua New Guinea
Carpenters Automotive and Transport Limited is seeking experienced and technically skilled Automotive Electricians for deployment to Papua New Guinea. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems of vehicles and transport equipment.
Automotive Electrician
Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess a certificate, diploma, or degree in Automotive Technology, Auto Electrical Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive, workshop, sales, or service-related roles.
- Strong technical, operational, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, diagnostics, wiring, and electronic components.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and workshop instruments effectively.
- Experience in troubleshooting electrical faults in light vehicles, heavy equipment, or commercial transport vehicles is an advantage.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Physically fit and capable of working in workshop and field service environments.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults in vehicles and transport equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair automotive electrical systems including wiring, lighting, starters, alternators, batteries, and electronic controls.
- Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify electrical and electronic malfunctions accurately.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of vehicle electrical systems.
- Repair or replace defective electrical components, connectors, sensors, and circuits.
- Ensure all repair and maintenance work complies with safety and manufacturer standards.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair reports, and workshop documentation.
- Coordinate with workshop supervisors, mechanics, and service teams to ensure efficient operations.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and properly maintained.
- Provide quality customer service and technical support when required.
