Qualifications:
- Male applicants are preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience as an Auto Denter, Auto Body Repair Technician, or in a related position.
- Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in a relevant field.
- Practical experience in automotive dent repair, body repair, collision repair, and panel replacement.
- Ability to inspect vehicles and accurately assess dents, crashes, body damage, and structural damage.
- Skilled in removing, repairing, straightening, aligning, and replacing damaged vehicle body panels.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and other automotive body repair tools.
- Knowledge of welding and bolting techniques for installing and securing replacement body components.
- Ability to perform basic metal cutting, shaping, grinding, straightening, and welding work.
- Good understanding of vehicle body alignment, panel fitting, and repair procedures.
- Ability to work safely with cutting torches, welding equipment, grinders, and other workshop equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving and practical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on automotive body repair duties.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
- Willing to follow workshop procedures, safety standards, and supervisor instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles to assess the extent of dents, collision damage, body damage, and structural damage.
- Determine the appropriate repair method based on the type, location, and severity of vehicle damage.
- Develop an efficient repair approach and estimate the materials, tools, and replacement parts required.
- Remove damaged fenders, grilles, doors, hoods, bumpers, panels, and other vehicle body components.
- Repair dents, bends, scratches, and other body imperfections using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Straighten and reshape damaged body panels to restore their original form and alignment.
- Use body hammers, dollies, pulling equipment, grinders, cutting tools, and other dent-repair equipment safely.
- Remove severely damaged panels using wrenches, cutting tools, or cutting torches when necessary.
- Install replacement fenders, grilles, panels, and other body parts using appropriate fastening methods.
- Weld or bolt replacement parts securely into place according to repair requirements.
- Ensure repaired and replaced body components are properly aligned and securely fitted.
- Check vehicle body gaps, panel alignment, doors, hoods, and other components after repairs.
- Perform basic metal straightening, shaping, cutting, grinding, and welding work as required.
- Prepare repaired surfaces for subsequent filling, sanding, priming, and painting.
- Coordinate with Auto Painters and other workshop personnel to ensure proper completion of vehicle repairs.
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality, structural integrity, proper alignment, and satisfactory appearance.
- Identify additional damage discovered during the repair process and report it to the supervisor.
- Maintain and properly use body repair tools, welding equipment, and workshop machinery.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Follow proper occupational health and safety procedures when using cutting, welding, and power equipment.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during vehicle body repair activities.
- Handle damaged vehicle parts, tools, and materials safely and responsibly.
- Complete assigned repair work efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Work independently when required and cooperate effectively with other workshop personnel.
- Perform other automotive body repair duties assigned by management.
