ALUMINUM WELDER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Must be at least a High School Graduate.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Previous experience in aluminum welding and fabrication is required.
• Skilled in cutting, fitting, grinding, cleaning, and preparing aluminum materials for welding.
• Knowledge of different aluminum alloys and their appropriate welding techniques.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, blueprints, welding specifications, and fabrication instructions.
• Knowledge of proper aluminum welding preparation, alignment, positioning, and finishing.
• Ability to inspect welds for strength, quality, alignment, dimensions, and appearance.
• Able to safely operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, hand tools, and other fabrication equipment.
• Good understanding of welding safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on welding and fabrication work.
• Reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a fabrication and production team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare aluminum materials for welding by measuring, marking, cutting, cleaning, and fitting components according to specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, welding specifications, measurements, and fabrication instructions.
• Set up and operate appropriate welding machines, tools, and equipment for aluminum welding applications.
• Perform aluminum welding and fabrication work according to approved procedures and required quality standards.
• Properly align, position, clamp, and fit aluminum components before welding.
• Select appropriate welding techniques, settings, and consumables based on the aluminum alloy and application.
• Perform tack welding and complete welds while maintaining proper penetration, consistency, and appearance.
• Inspect completed welds for strength, quality, alignment, dimensions, surface appearance, and other defects.
• Grind, clean, smooth, and finish welded areas as required.
• Identify welding defects such as cracks, porosity, incomplete fusion, distortion, or irregular welds and perform corrective work when necessary.
• Handle different aluminum alloys and apply appropriate welding and fabrication techniques.
• Use measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensions, alignment, and fabrication accuracy.
• Operate cutting, grinding, drilling, and other fabrication tools safely and correctly.
• Maintain welding machines, hand tools, power tools, and related equipment in proper working condition.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of welding and fabrication equipment.
• Keep workstations, tools, machinery, and fabrication areas clean, organized, and free from unnecessary hazards.
• Follow proper procedures for handling, storing, and protecting aluminum materials and welding consumables.
• Coordinate with fabricators, fitters, supervisors, and other production personnel to complete assigned work.
• Follow company quality-control procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain safe welding practices at all times.
• Report defective materials, equipment problems, unsafe conditions, or major welding issues to the supervisor.
• Complete welding and fabrication assignments according to required production schedules and quality standards.
