AIRPORT RUNWAY TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in airfield lighting systems, electrical maintenance, or related technical fields.
    Male applicants are preferred for this role.
  • Experience operating and performing preventive maintenance on airfield systems.
  • Knowledge of Constant Current Regulators (CCR) installation and maintenance.
  • Experience maintaining Airfield Lighting (AFL) fixtures such as Touchdown Zone Lights (TDZ), Threshold Centerline Lights (TCL), Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI), Blue Edge Lights, and similar systems.
  • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring, circuits, and airport lighting equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and safety standards.
  • Skilled in using electrical testing and measuring instruments.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor airport environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and perform preventive maintenance on airport airfield systems.
    Install, inspect, and maintain Constant Current Regulators (CCR).
    Install and maintain various Airfield Lighting (AFL) fixtures including TCL, TDZ, PAPI, Blue Edge Lights, and related equipment.
    Conduct routine inspections and serviceability checks of runway and taxiway lighting systems.
    Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform necessary repairs.
    Replace defective lighting components, cables, and electrical equipment.
    Ensure proper operation of runway lighting systems to support safe airport operations.
    Maintain tools, instruments, and testing equipment in good working condition.
    Follow airport safety regulations and maintenance procedures at all times.
    Record maintenance activities and report equipment issues to supervisors.
    Assist with emergency repairs and operational support when required.
    Coordinate with supervisors and engineering teams to ensure maintenance schedules are completed efficiently.
