Heavy Equipment Fleet Lead Mechanic

Qualifications:

• Preferably Trade-qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic with at least 10+ years’ experience working with cranes, excavators, trucks, and construction machinery.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop or field maintenance team
• Strong practical diagnostic and repair skills — must be able to step in personally to fix equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and vehicles, including cranes, excavators, trucks, and other civil machinery.
• Perform both emergency repairs and planned overhauls.
• Prioritize repairs to maximize uptime and minimize recurring costs.
• Lead and mentor a small team of local mechanics and operators.
• Build a strong work culture focused on accountability, safety, and pride in workmanship.
• Provide on-the-job training and set clear expectations for standards of work.
• Develop and implement a structured maintenance schedule
• Introduce systems for inspections, service logs, and parts tracking
• Reduce reliance on costly reactive repairs through systematic preventive care.
• Assess repair needs, parts sourcing, and vendor support in a cost-effective way
• Provide recommendations to management on repair vs. replacement decisions.
• Deliver measurable improvements in fleet availability and repair cost savings.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with PRC safety policies and industry best practice.
• Drive a safety-first mindset across the team.
