CHARGEHAND/ LEADMAN PIPING

Qualifications:

• Male applicants are preferred
• Minimum of 8 years work experience
• EX CCC CANDIDATES CAN APPLY ONLY
• ITI/Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical/Piping (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in piping construction, with at least 1–2 years as a lead worker or chargehand
• Good knowledge of piping materials, fabrication, and installation practices.
• Ability to read drawings and follow instructions from Foreman/Engineer.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• Knowledge of safety procedures in construction/oil & gas sites
• The Chargehand is like a “lead hand” who directly supervises a small group of workers and assists the Foreman in executing daily piping activities

Responsibilities:

• The Piping Chargehand assists the Piping Foreman in supervising and controlling piping installation, fabrication, and related activities at the worksite.
• The role involves hands-on work as well as guiding a small group of pipefitters, welders,
  and helpers to ensure smooth execution of daily tasks.
• Support the Piping Foreman in organizing daily work activities and manpower allocation.
• Lead a small crew of pipefitters and helpers for piping fabrication, alignment, and installation.
• Interpret drawings, isometric sketches, and work instructions for the team.
• Ensure proper tools, materials, and equipment are available before starting work.
• Assist in monitoring pipe fit-up, welding preparation, and erection work.
• Report daily progress, manpower needs, and material shortages to the Foreman.
• Maintain safe working practices and ensure crew compliance with site safety rules.
• Inspect completed work for accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
• Provide training and guidance to junior workers
• Coordinate with other chargehands and crews to avoid delays and clashes in work
