Retail Assistant Manager
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience as a Retail Assistant Manager, Retail Supervisor, or in a similar leadership role.
- Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Must have proven work experience in Retail, Wholesale, Merchandising, or Distribution companies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, stock control, and retail operations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with retail POS and inventory systems is an advantage.
- Flexible, dependable, and willing to work weekends, holidays, and shifting schedules as required.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day management of retail store operations.
- Supervise, motivate, and support store staff to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
- Monitor daily sales performance and assist in achieving sales targets and business objectives.
- Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, stocked, and presented according to company standards.
- Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, receiving, and storage of merchandise.
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist in inventory audits to minimize stock discrepancies and losses.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns professionally to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Train, coach, and evaluate employees to improve performance and productivity.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational reports as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, retail procedures, and workplace health and safety standards.
- Coordinate promotional activities and assist in implementing marketing campaigns within the store.
- Monitor cash handling procedures and assist with opening and closing store operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Store Manager or management.
