Welder – FCAW

Qualifications:

• At least High School or Secondary Graduate
• Preferably with 2-year International Trade Certificate in any Welding Technology.
• Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in FCAW Process as Structural Steel Welder in any Steel Fabrication company and must have solid blueprint interpretation skills drawn out from experience. must qualified in 3G position, familiar with PEB & Structural steel welding, basic knowledge of fabrication drawing, welding symbols, should know welding parameters, Gouging, CJP/PJP weld, able to do multi pass welding, should know weld repair procedures
• With Steel Fabrication Industry experience

Responsibilities:

• Reviews layouts, blueprints, diagrams or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.
• Determines requirement equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques.
• Checks the correct stencil of the fabricated members.
• Welds components/ materials in flat, vertical or overhead positions based on the Welding specifications and on the company’s standards and requirements.
• Records the daily output for submission to the immediate head’s monitoring report.
• Achieves and maintains the standard productivity and efficiency in terms of MT /Quantity.
• Practices properly the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, face masks and the like while inside the shop-floor.
• Reports to immediate head any incidences of breakdown for immediate attention.
• Practices 5S and maintains the necessary housekeeping in his area of work to keep it hazard free & safe.
• Checks the welding output if it complies with the given specification requirement to avoid possible QC rejection.
• Strictly follows the Welding specifications to ensure that welded materials will yield lesser chance of repair or reworks.
• Clarifies with the immediate head any unclear instructions or details in the process to avoid repetition of work and reduce the non-conformances in the finished product.
• Checks the welding machine’s condition daily.
• Initiates maintenance request through lead man for timely repair and calibration of the machine.
• Maintains the standard consumption of consumables to reduce the wastage of welding wires in the process.
