CNC Machine Operator

Qualifications:

• At least High School or Secondary Graduate
• Preferably with 2 years ITI certfication in Mechanical Engineering
• Certificate in Basic CNC Operation, is an advantage
• Minimum of 3 years working experience as CNC Machine Operator from Steel Fabrication or any similar industry

Responsibilities:

• Ensures the machine loads produce the required output as per work plan.
• Records the daily output for submission to the immediate head’s monitoring report.
• Clarifies with the immediate head any unclear instructions or details in the Engineering drawings to avoid repetition of work.
• Ensures that completion of work is maximum as to the given plan by the immediate supervisor.
• Find ways to reduce material and consumable cost, and produce more on plan.
• Initiates kaizen or work improvement inputs to its job whenever arises.
• Checks the condition of the machine prior to actual operation or usage.
• Calibrates the machine periodically or as required.
• Informs the immediate head for any incidence of machine breakdown for immediate attention.
• Regularly checks the prevention maintenance schedule of the machine with Maintenance department.
• Develops new methods / ways of producing good quality as per approval by client and/or immediate supervisor.
• Suggests new machine set up or jigs or material handling efficient for the work.
• Be updated on the Company Policies and Procedures on Safety and Health
• Observes properly usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, face masks, gloves and the like in the shop floor.
• Makes sure that gas consumables and toxic materials are safely handled and with proper protective equipment.
• Reports to the immediate head any accident for investigation and corrective solution.
• Checks the surrounding work area for any unsafe activity or work hazards and reports to immediate head.
• Ensure that daily output are recorded with complete Program ID, Job no., parameters and other pertinent information.
• Ensure that NCR’s are minimum or achieve zero.
• Minimizes the number of repairs or reworks by checking the Computer Numeric Code (CNC) program against the materials prior to loading.
• Checks strictly the material type or grade, material dimensions as per Program or drawing specification and requirements.
• Make sure that machines are calibrated prior to use of the machine
• Make sure that inputs of machines are correct and as per machine specification or rating.
