Global Skilled Employment Services is seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics specializing in heavy agricultural machinery. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the reliable operation of farm equipment to support efficient agricultural production.
Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Agricultural Machinery)
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of proven industrial-level experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Strong knowledge of heavy agricultural machinery, particularly John Deere tractors
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
- Must hold a VETASSESS Skills Assessment Certificate or any recognized TRA certification
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to work independently and manage repairs in a fast-paced farming environment
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on mechanical work
- Strong commitment to safety and equipment reliability
Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on heavy agricultural machinery, including tractors and related equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
- Ensure all machinery operates safely and efficiently to support daily farm operations
- Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Follow safety standards and operational procedures at all times
