Our employer in New Zealand is in need of the following position:

CONCRETE PLACER/FINISHER

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Practical experience in concrete work, carpentry, or general construction.
• Experience operating excavators and loaders (essential). Familiarity with additional machinery (rollers, skid steers, dumpers) is an advantage.
• Good to excellent English communication skills.
• WTR endorsements (Wheels, Tracks & Rollers) essential or ability to obtain.
• Construction-related qualifications preferred.
• Strong understanding of concrete mixes, slab designs, finishing, and curing techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Install paving systems, including segmental pavers, slabs, decorative concrete, and hardscape surfaces.
• Carry out subgrade preparation, basecourse placement, compaction, and leveling.
• Perform concrete placement and finishing, including slab designs (steel fibre, combi-slab, post-tension slabs).
• Operate construction machinery, including excavators, loaders, laser screeds, trowelling machines, and other related equipment.
• Cut pavers and concrete cleanly using brick saws and cutting tools.
• Apply different finishing and curing techniques to achieve quality concrete surfaces.
• Assist with surface preparation for roads, driveways, pavements, and pre/post formwork.
• Set out and install mini-culverts, entry/exit aprons, headwalls, sumps, channels, and minor drainage components.
• Ensure proper falls, alignments, and jointing for all pipework and drainage systems.
