Our employer in New Zealand is in need of the following position:

WORKSHOP MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• 35 years of experience as a Mechanic.
• Broad mechanical knowledge: small engines, diesel engines, construction plant, and vehicles.
• Competent in fabrication and welding.
• Practical problem-solver able to work independently.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and preventative maintenance.
• Valid drivers license (1238).
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices.
• Good to excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Operate across the clients two main workshops.
• Service, repair, and maintain machinery and vehicles, including plant equipment, trucks, and light vehicles.
• Diagnose faults across small engines up to heavy diesel engines.
• Perform fabrication and welding as needed (MIG/ARC/TIG welding experience preferred).
• Support preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures while working in workshops.
