PLANT FITTER | MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in fixed plant maintenance, preferably within mining or industrial processing plants.
• Sound knowledge of asset maintenance systems, mechanical systems, and risk management.
• Experience in leading and developing personnel to achieve daily targets and safe work outcomes.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies for plant equipment and processes.
• Strong understanding of safety systems and compliance in industrial environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain complex mechanical systems.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety, zero incidents, and high-quality maintenance standards.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage planned maintenance schedules effectively.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain all areas of mechanical equipment to the highest standard to ensure maximum plant availability.
• Execute daily preventative maintenance tasks according to the weekly maintenance schedule.
• Plan and achieve 85% of planned maintenance work each week.
• Perform maintenance activities as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor.
• Train and mentor apprentices and trainees, providing on-the-job development and support for their career growth.
• Ensure accurate completion of work to achieve the maintenance budget plan.
• Promote and support SafeWork systems and drive a zero-harm culture within the maintenance team.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping both in the workshop and on-site.
• Apply continuous improvement methods to enhance equipment performance and maintenance processes.

Allcon Steel Construction’s premises are owned by the company and include 3000m2 of working space with four 5 tonne and two 10 tonne overhead cranes and a Beam Line Machine, 350m2 of administration office space and drafting office for our in-house shop detailing requirements.

Allcon Steel Construction is a locally owned and operated steel fabrication Company.

The company was initially formed in 1979 by Terry Condipodero to service the building industry in the supply and fabrication of architectural metalwork. Initially employing 1 to 3 people.

The company expanded to such an extent that it was no longer possible for one person to control the operation.

Colin Gibson joined the company in 1982 as an equal partner and Allcon Steel Construction became involved in many of the major building projects in Perth in the shop detailing, supply and installation of – structural steel and metal work
