Are you a strategic leader with a strong foundation in business management? SPORT FISHING PNG & BOAT CHARTERS is seeking a General Manager to oversee operations, drive business growth, and lead cross-functional teams. A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is required.
General Manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related field like management or administration, and extensive work experience in a managerial role.
- Prior experience in Wholesale & Retail, boat services, local and international boat charters, and managing company’s fleet — Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) can be beneficial.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, set goals, and achieve results.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid financial skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mange all departments, including retail, boat services, and cruises. Hire, train, and develop staff to provide exceptional customer service
- Oversee day to day operations of the whole sale and retail division, ensuring an optimal customer experience and high inventory turnover.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure product availability, negotiate pricing, and manage stock levels
- Manage boat maintenance and repair services, ensuring timely, high- quality work for clients.
- Maintain a well- organized scheduling system for service appointments, maximizing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the planning and execution of local and international boat cruises, including itinerary planning, crew management, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the management of the company’s boat fleet, ensuring that all vessels are maintained in optimal working condition.
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance system ( pms) for the fleet, ensuring all boats are regularly serviced, inspected, and repaired as necessary to prevent downtime.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring all department operate within their financial parameters.
- Monitor key Performance indicators (kpis) for all areas of the business and report regularly to senior management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty across all services.
- Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring they are resolved to the client’ satisfaction.
- Conduct market research to identify new trends, opportunities, and threats within the sport fishing and boating industry.
- Lead the expansion of services, identifying new locations or markets for cruise service or new product offering in the retail shop
