WELDER / FABRICATOR (MAG/MIG/ARC WELDER)

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Welder, Fabricator, MIG/MAG Welder, or ARC Welder.
• Skilled in MAG/MIG and ARC welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications.
• Good knowledge of metal preparation, cutting, fitting, welding, grinding, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to set up and adjust welding machines and equipment according to job requirements.
• Experience fabricating and assembling steel or other metal structures and components.
• Good understanding of welding quality standards, weld defects, and basic inspection procedures.
• Ability to accurately measure, align, fit, and position metal components before welding.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other metal fabrication equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good knowledge of welding safety, workplace safety procedures, and proper use of PPE.
• Physically fit and capable of performing welding and fabrication work in a demanding work environment.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and willing to follow instructions and established work procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Perform MAG/MIG and ARC welding on various metal materials and components.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, measurements, and fabrication specifications.
• Prepare metal materials by measuring, marking, cutting, grinding, and fitting components before welding.
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures, frames, supports, brackets, and other steel components according to specifications.
• Set up and adjust welding machines, equipment, and appropriate welding parameters according to the material and job requirements.
• Select and use the appropriate welding method, electrodes, wires, and tools for each fabrication task.
• Perform tack welding to properly position and secure components before final welding.
• Ensure accurate alignment, dimensions, angles, and positioning of fabricated components.
• Grind, clean, and finish welded surfaces to achieve the required quality and appearance.
• Inspect welds and fabricated components for cracks, defects, distortion, incomplete welds, and other quality issues.
• Repair defective welds or fabricated components when necessary.
• Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools safely and correctly.
• Conduct basic measurements using appropriate measuring tools to ensure fabricated parts meet specifications.
• Maintain welding machines, tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe working condition.
• Follow approved welding procedures, fabrication standards, quality requirements, and workplace safety regulations.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmet, gloves, protective clothing, and safety footwear.
• Handle metal materials and welding consumables safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, fabricators, and other workers to complete assigned projects accurately and on schedule.
• Minimize material waste through accurate measurement, cutting, fitting, and fabrication.
• Report equipment problems, material issues, safety hazards, or technical concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain productivity and quality while working within required project deadlines.
• Perform other welding, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance duties assigned by management.
