TRUCK DRIVER
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in construction works.
- Proven experience operating trucks in construction, civil works, or related environments.
- Experience transporting materials, plant, equipment, spoil, aggregate, and other construction items.
- At least High School Graduate.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence, Code CE.
- Knowledge of safe loading, unloading, securing, and transportation of construction materials and equipment.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with operators, spotters, suppliers, and site crews.
- Good understanding of construction site safety and safe driving practices.
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors and in various construction site conditions.
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery, vehicles, workers, and construction equipment.
- Reliable, responsible, safety-conscious, and able to follow instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to work in different weather and site conditions as required.
- Willing to take IELTS or PTE and obtain a minimum score of 4.0 for IELTS or 29 for PTE.
Responsibilities:
- Operate trucks safely and efficiently for construction and civil works projects.
- Transport materials, plant, equipment, spoil, aggregate, tools, and other construction-related items to and from designated locations.
- Deliver and collect materials and equipment from construction sites, suppliers, disposal facilities, and other assigned locations.
- Load and unload trucks safely and securely according to site procedures and load requirements.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities with equipment operators, spotters, suppliers, supervisors, and site crews.
- Secure loads properly to prevent shifting, falling, or damage during transportation.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections and basic safety checks of the assigned truck.
- Check tyres, brakes, lights, fluid levels, safety equipment, and other essential vehicle components.
- Report vehicle defects, mechanical problems, damage, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Follow designated routes, delivery schedules, site instructions, and transportation requirements.
- Safely maneuver trucks within construction sites, work areas, access roads, and uneven terrain.
- Follow proper reversing procedures and work safely with spotters when required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, trips, loads, and vehicle-related activities.
- Ensure materials and equipment are delivered to the correct location and handled safely.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and general condition of the truck.
- Comply with New Zealand road traffic laws, workplace health and safety regulations, and construction site rules.
- Follow environmental procedures when transporting spoil, aggregate, waste, and other construction materials.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, suppliers, and other construction personnel.
- Assist construction crews with transportation and site logistics as required.
- Perform other truck driving and construction support duties assigned by management.
