Track Maintenance

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in railway track maintenance, rail construction, or a related field.
• No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Knowledge of railway track structures, maintenance procedures, and rail safety standards.
• Experience in replacing rails, sleepers (ties), fasteners, and performing track alignment is an advantage.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and railway maintenance equipment.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform manual labor.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including night shifts, weekends, and emergency maintenance assignments when required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of railway tracks, switches, crossings, and related infrastructure.
• Adjust rail joints, replace worn or damaged rails, sleepers (ties), fasteners, and other track components.
• Inspect tracks for defects, misalignment, wear, and structural damage, and report issues requiring corrective action.
• Carry out track alignment, leveling, tamping, and gauge adjustments to maintain safe operating conditions.
• Coordinate with train controllers and operations personnel to schedule track closures and maintenance activities.
• Follow approved maintenance procedures while ensuring minimal disruption to railway operations.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and track maintenance equipment safely.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, railway regulations, and occupational health and safety standards.
• Install or replace rail fastening systems and other track hardware as required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work logs.
• Keep work sites clean, organized, and free from hazards after maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency track repairs when required.
• Perform other railway maintenance duties assigned by supervisors.
