Steward/Dishwasher

Qualifications:

  • Male or female applicants are welcome.
  • Preferably 21–40 years old, subject to the employer’s requirements and applicable regulations.
  • At least a high school graduate.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Steward, Dishwasher, or Kitchen Utility Worker in a hotel, resort, or restaurant.
  • Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel or resort is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen sanitation, cleaning procedures, and proper waste disposal.
  • Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and handling kitchen equipment safely.
  • Hardworking, reliable, organized, and attentive to cleanliness.
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Good communication skills in English; knowledge of Italian is an advantage.
  • Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willing to work in Italy for the duration of the employment contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash, rinse, sanitize, and organize dishes, plates, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils.
  • Operate dishwashing machines and use appropriate cleaning products safely.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, preparation areas, floors, sinks, and other assigned spaces.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, storage areas, and service stations.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Collect, sort, and dispose of kitchen waste according to established procedures.
  • Separate recyclable materials and maintain proper waste management practices where required.
  • Assist with cleaning kitchen appliances and equipment according to instructions.
  • Store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in their designated areas.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic utility tasks when needed.
  • Follow instructions from the chef, kitchen supervisor, or stewarding supervisor.
  • Perform other cleaning and kitchen support duties as assigned.
