SHOP ASSISTANT

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience is required.
• Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Food and Beverage Preparation or Service Management, Hospitality or Tourism Management, or a related field.
• Graduates or undergraduates of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) or Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) are encouraged to apply.
• TESDA National Certificate II (NC II) in Food and Beverage Services, Cookery, or Bread and Pastry Production is required or preferred according to the employer’s requirements.
• Preferably with at least 1 year of continuous work experience in restaurants, casual dining establishments, or bakery shops.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Cheerful, helpful, neat, and possessing a pleasing personality.
• Ability to assist customers professionally and work efficiently in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Experience in cashiering or handling cash transactions is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of operating a cash register or POS system is an advantage.
• Willingness to perform shop maintenance, cleaning, food preparation assistance, and other related duties.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly, respond to inquiries, and assist them with food and beverage selections.
• Take customer orders accurately and ensure that food and drinks are served in a friendly and timely manner.
• Provide information about menu items, bakery products, prices, and available offerings.
• Assist with displaying, arranging, and replenishing food products and other shop merchandise.
• Handle customer payments and cash transactions when required.
• Operate a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system to process orders and payments accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area, service counters, shop floor, and customer service stations.
• Assist with basic food preparation, packaging, and serving activities as needed.
• Perform dishwashing and ensure that utensils, equipment, and service areas are clean and ready for use.
• Monitor supplies and inform the supervisor when products or service materials need replenishment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff and other team members to maintain efficient daily operations.
• Provide courteous customer service and help maintain a welcoming shopping and dining environment.
