Senior Quantity Surveyor
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English with the employer.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in quantity surveying, project cost control, and contract administration.
- Strong experience in pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying activities.
- Proficient in feasibility studies, tendering, cost planning, procurement, and contract documentation.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial management, and construction cost control.
- Skilled in contract negotiation, variation management, and commercial risk assessment.
- Experience using construction measurement software, cost estimation tools, and quantity surveying applications.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, engineering drawings, and project specifications.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong leadership, team coordination, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-Construction Phase
- Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary budgets, and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Develop cost plans, bills of quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare accurate project cost forecasts.
- Evaluate tender submissions, analyze bids, and provide commercial recommendations.
- Assist in procurement planning, contractor selection, and contract preparation.
- Identify project risks and recommend cost-effective engineering and procurement solutions.
- Construction Phase
- Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, variations, and cash flow throughout project execution.
- Evaluate and certify contractor progress claims, payment applications, and variation orders.
- Prepare cost reports, financial forecasts, and commercial performance updates for management.
- Monitor project progress and recommend corrective actions to maintain budget and schedule.
- Negotiate contracts, claims, variations, and dispute resolutions with contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and clients to achieve project objectives.
- Manage commercial risks and implement effective cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Post-Construction Phase
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts with contractors and subcontractors.
- Review project costs and ensure accurate financial project close-out.
- Resolve outstanding contractual claims and commercial issues.
- Prepare project completion reports and document lessons learned for future projects.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete and properly archived.
