Almarai Company – Seafood Division is seeking a qualified Senior Laboratory Technician to support quality assurance and food safety operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing, monitoring product quality, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining accurate laboratory records. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a food manufacturing or seafood processing environment.

Senior Laboratory Technician

Qualifications:

• Relevant work experience as a Senior Laboratory Technician or in a similar laboratory or quality control role.
• Experience in the food manufacturing, seafood processing, or hospitality industry is an advantage.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods, quality control procedures, and food safety standards.
• Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, sanitation practices, and quality management systems.
• Experience operating laboratory instruments and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to mentor junior laboratory staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory record management.

Responsibilities:

• Perform physical, chemical, and microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process products, finished products, and water samples in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor laboratory activities to ensure compliance with quality assurance programs, food safety regulations, and laboratory standards.
• Prepare samples, perform laboratory analyses, and accurately record test results.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
• Review laboratory data and identify product quality issues, reporting any non-conformances to the Quality Assurance team.
• Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety management systems.
• Maintain laboratory records, reports, certificates of analysis, and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with internal audits, external inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure laboratory chemicals, reagents, and testing materials are properly stored, handled, and inventoried.
• Train and provide guidance to junior laboratory personnel on laboratory procedures and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the laboratory at all times.
• Perform other laboratory and quality control duties assigned by management.
