Research and Development Manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Industrial Food Manufacturing, Bakery, Pastry, or Food Production Facilities
  • Experience in companies similar to Nippon Premium Bakery, Sari Roti, Fuwa Fuwa, Marby Food Venture, or Liberty Food Mart is highly preferred
  • Strong background in bakery products, frozen pastry, cakes, croissants, tortilla, and shelf-stable baked goods
  • Experience in product development, formulation, scale-up, and commercialization
  • Knowledge of SFDA, GSO, and Halal compliance requirements
  • Experience managing ingredient functionality, supplier collaboration, and clean-label initiatives
  • Working experience with Tortilla, Rondo, Ciabatta, or Smart Line production systems is an advantage
  • Experience with Gardenia or other major food manufacturing companies is a plus
  • Strong leadership, project management, and innovation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product innovation and new product development (NPD) for bakery, frozen pastry, cakes, croissants, tortilla, and related products
  • Manage the complete product development cycle from concept, formulation, testing, scale-up, and commercial launch
  • Develop and optimize recipes, formulations, and manufacturing processes
  • Ensure freeze-thaw stability, shelf-life performance, sensory quality, and cost efficiency
  • Lead reformulation projects to improve quality, compliance, and product performance
  • Ensure compliance with SFDA, GSO, Halal, and food safety requirements
  • Work closely with Production and QA teams during industrial trials, validation, and scale-up activities
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams on customer requirements, product benchmarking, and innovation projects
  • Manage supplier relationships and evaluate ingredient functionality and alternatives
  • Drive continuous improvement, clean-label development, and cost optimization initiatives
  • Maintain technical documentation, product specifications, and regulatory compliance records
