QC Coating Inspector
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience as a QC Coating Inspector.
- Candidates must be at least a High School Graduate.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Experience in oil and gas projects is required.
- Familiar with ISO, ASME, and API standards related to coating inspection and quality control.
- Knowledge of SSPC surface preparation standards and coating inspection procedures.
- Proficient in using coating inspection instruments such as DFT gauges, surface profile gauges, dew point meters, and related testing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and commitment to quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and applicable quality requirements before coating activities.
- Verify batch certifications, technical data sheets, and compliance of incoming coating and painting materials.
- Measure and record ambient temperature, relative humidity, steel surface temperature, and dew point to confirm suitable environmental conditions for coating application.
- Inspect abrasive-blasted surfaces for cleanliness in accordance with SSPC standards and verify the required surface profile (anchor pattern) before painting.
- Monitor coating application processes to ensure compliance with approved procedures, manufacturer’s recommendations, and project specifications.
- Perform inspections and testing, including dry film thickness (DFT), wet film thickness (WFT), adhesion, and visual coating inspections using calibrated instruments.
- Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
- Identify non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with project teams.
- Ensure all coating inspection activities comply with applicable safety, quality, and client requirements.
