Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience as a Commis 1 or in a similar culinary role.
• Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Food and Beverage Preparation/Service Management or a related field.
• Must have experience in the cooking industry or hospitality food service operations.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, recipe execution, and kitchen procedures.
• Ability to manage an assigned kitchen station and work with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Good teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients according to corporate or restaurant recipe standards.
• Prepare sauces, stocks, fillings, and other food components while maintaining consistency and quality.
• Ensure assigned workstation is fully stocked, clean, organized, and ready before service begins.
• Prepare and plate dishes according to senior chef instructions and established presentation standards.
• Assist the Station Head in daily kitchen operations and take responsibility for assigned culinary stations when required.
• Guide and support junior kitchen staff, including Commis 2 and Commis 3 chefs, by providing assistance and basic training.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation to ensure dishes meet restaurant standards.
• Ensure all prepared food is served at the correct temperature and maintains consistent taste and appearance.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and kitchen tools while following food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Support efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
