QA/QC Mechanical Engineer
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience as a QA/QC Mechanical Engineer, either local or abroad.
- Age limit: Up to 56 years old.
- Strong experience in mechanical quality assurance and quality control for construction projects.
- Knowledge of mechanical installation, fabrication, inspection, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, method statements, and inspection and test plans.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures, inspection processes, non-conformance management, and corrective actions.
- Experience preparing and maintaining inspection reports, quality records, and project documentation.
- Ability to coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, subcontractors, and site teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, standards, specifications, and construction quality requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to identify quality issues and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project inspection and documentation deadlines.
- Reliable, responsible, and capable of working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary construction team.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control procedures for mechanical works.
- Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and other project quality documents.
- Inspect mechanical materials and equipment upon delivery to ensure compliance with approved specifications and requirements.
- Monitor mechanical installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Conduct inspections of mechanical systems, equipment, piping, fabrication, installation, and related works.
- Prepare and coordinate inspection requests with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors.
- Witness and coordinate required mechanical testing and commissioning activities.
- Verify that completed works meet required quality, dimensional, installation, and workmanship standards.
- Identify defective, non-conforming, or incomplete work and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
- Prepare and monitor non-conformance reports (NCRs), observations, corrective action requests, and related quality documentation.
- Ensure that corrective and preventive actions are properly implemented and closed within the required timeframe.
- Monitor welding, fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing activities where applicable to mechanical works.
- Verify that materials, equipment, tools, and installation procedures comply with approved submittals and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, approvals, material certificates, and quality documentation.
- Review material test certificates, inspection reports, equipment certificates, and other quality records.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers, site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project management on quality-related matters.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential quality issues before they affect project progress.
- Assist in preparing quality reports, inspection summaries, punch lists, and project quality records.
- Monitor completion and closure of punch-list items and outstanding mechanical works.
- Ensure that mechanical works comply with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and approved procedures.
- Participate in quality meetings, technical meetings, progress meetings, and inspections with clients and consultants.
- Support commissioning and handover activities by ensuring that required quality documents and test records are complete.
- Maintain proper organization and control of QA/QC documentation throughout the project.
- Promote quality awareness among site personnel and ensure compliance with approved quality procedures.
- Perform other QA/QC, inspection, testing, documentation, and mechanical quality control duties assigned by management.
