Highland Products Limited, trading as Zenag Chicken, is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Production Planning Manager to oversee and coordinate production planning across multiple poultry operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing short- and long-term production plans, ensuring optimal capacity utilization, and supporting efficient operations across all production departments.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Animal Husbandry or Agriculture
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role – applicants with poultry experience preferred, however, applicants with experience in other industries will be considered.
• An Excel wizard (Advanced excel skills, including macros). Access and PowerPoint skills would be an advantage
• Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
• Highly motivated, effective problem-solving capabilities and ability to influence outcomes and liaise across all levels of the company.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management

Responsibilities:

• Provide short & long term production plans, capacity reviews and simulations for all production departments (Grand Parents Farms, Breeder Farms, Broiler Farms, Commercial Layer Farms).
• Plan shed harvest schedules for broilers and also culling schedules for breeding flocks and commercial layers.
• Plan and coordinate placement schedules for all production departments
• Forecast hatchery production performance to manage day-old-chicken placement & sales schedules.
• Liaise with farm management and stockfeed suppliers to forecast consumption and order requirements.
• Plan stockfeed collections and unloading into sheds on weekly and daily basis.
• Maintain accurate farm data to provide performance analysis & reporting.
• Facilitate accurate and comprehensive data gathering
• Regularly update and communicate production forecasts for the sales team.
• Provide weekly/monthly production reporting to management & finance
• Coordinate with other departments on matters related to production operations and planning.
• Any other duties requested by management
• Internal:
  • Hatchery and production managers for planning and audits.
  • Directors for performance analysis.
  • Sales team for production volumes,
    inventory and forecasts.
  • All support service managers
• External:
  • Company consultants working with the production group.
  • Key suppliers, including stockfeed manufacturers and Aviagen for breeding stock.
