Aureol Global Connections is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Setting Out Engineer to work on construction and structural steel projects in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out steel structures accurately according to drawings and plans, conducting site measurements and as-built surveys, checking levels and alignment, and ensuring that steel columns, beams, and frames are positioned correctly. The role requires hands-on experience with Total Station equipment and strong technical drawing interpretation skills.

Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on experience as a Setting Out Engineer, Site Engineer, Survey Engineer, or similar construction position.
- Hands-on experience using Total Station is required.
- Strong ability to set out steel structures according to drawings and plans.
- Ability to accurately set and check levels, measurements, coordinates, and alignment.
- Experience checking the position and alignment of steel columns, beams, and frames.
- Ability to read and understand structural and steel drawings.
- Experience conducting site measurements and as-built surveys.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when taking measurements and establishing reference points.
- Ability to identify and report errors, discrepancies, or differences between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Good understanding of construction setting-out procedures, surveying principles, and structural steel installation.
- Ability to work closely with steel installers, engineers, site supervisors, and other construction personnel.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills for maintaining setting-out and survey records.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and willing to work on construction sites and in varying site conditions.
- Able to work independently while coordinating effectively with the wider project team.
- Strong commitment to project quality, accuracy, health, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Set out structural steelwork accurately according to approved drawings, plans, coordinates, and project specifications.
- Operate Total Station equipment to establish and verify positions, coordinates, levels, and alignment.
- Set and check levels, measurements, coordinates, dimensions, and structural reference points.
- Establish accurate setting-out points, benchmarks, grids, and control points on construction sites.
- Check the position, elevation, orientation, and alignment of steel columns, beams, frames, and other structural components.
- Read and interpret structural steel drawings, construction drawings, plans, specifications, and relevant technical documents.
- Carry out detailed site measurements and as-built surveys to verify completed works.
- Conduct dimensional checks to ensure installed steel structures comply with approved drawings and required tolerances.
- Identify errors, discrepancies, dimensional differences, or alignment issues on site and report them promptly.
- Assist in resolving setting-out and measurement issues in coordination with engineers and site supervisors.
- Work closely with steel installers, structural engineers, project engineers, supervisors, and other site personnel.
- Provide accurate setting-out information and technical support to steel installation teams.
- Recheck measurements and reference points before and during installation to prevent errors.
- Maintain accurate records of survey measurements, setting-out activities, coordinates, levels, and as-built information.
- Prepare or assist with as-built survey records and documentation.
- Ensure surveying and setting-out equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and stored.
- Perform routine checks on Total Station and other surveying instruments before use.
- Follow project quality control procedures, specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
- Follow site health and safety procedures and ensure setting-out activities are carried out safely.
- Communicate effectively with project teams regarding measurements, alignment, progress, and site discrepancies.
- Perform other engineering, surveying, setting-out, and site duties assigned by management.
