PRODUCTION MANAGER (E-Waste Processing)
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in production operations within heavy industry, manufacturing, mining, materials processing, recycling, or a related field.
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Process, Chemical, Mining, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in leading and supervising production crews or teams.
- Hands-on experience operating or managing processing plants involving shredding, screening, conveying, or mechanical separation.
- Experience in e-waste processing, scrap metal recycling, materials recovery, or resource recovery is highly advantageous.
- Experience with eddy current, magnetic, air, or other material separation systems.
- Experience assisting with the installation, commissioning, testing, or start-up of new processing plant and equipment.
- Comfortable operating or working around excavators, skid steers, forklifts, and other mobile plant equipment.
- Strong understanding of production planning, process control, material flow, and quality management.
- Ability to plan daily production activities against targets and maintain accurate production records.
- Good judgment in identifying process, production, equipment, and quality issues.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Clear spoken and written English for workplace communication, safety instructions, reporting, and team coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Physically capable of working in an industrial recycling and processing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities in the e-waste processing facility.
- Lead and manage production crews to achieve daily production, quality, and operational targets.
- Operate and monitor processing equipment used for e-waste recycling and material recovery.
- Work hands-on with plant equipment such as shredders, screens, conveyors, and mechanical separation systems.
- Monitor production processes to ensure efficient material flow and consistent output.
- Conduct or oversee the sorting, processing, separation, and recovery of recyclable materials from e-waste.
- Operate or assist with the operation of excavators, skid steers, forklifts, and other mobile plant equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify mechanical, operational, or process-related issues.
- Assist with troubleshooting production equipment and coordinate repairs or maintenance when required.
- Monitor and adjust production processes to improve throughput, recovery rates, and product quality.
- Ensure production activities are carried out according to established procedures, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate daily production records, including production volumes, material throughput, downtime, and other operational data.
- Plan production activities against daily targets and adjust operations to meet required output.
- Conduct quality checks on recovered and processed materials and address quality issues promptly.
- Monitor the performance of separation systems, including magnetic, eddy current, air, and mechanical separation equipment.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, testing, and optimization of new processing plant and equipment.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel, engineers, supervisors, and other team members to maintain smooth plant operations.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of production areas, machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Communicate production requirements, hazards, operational issues, and instructions clearly to workers and management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, productivity enhancement, waste reduction, and increased material recovery.
- Perform other production, plant operation, and resource recovery duties as assigned by management.
