The Production Engineer will develop and improve production line capabilities, identify and eliminate process losses, and help the line consistently achieve Run To Target (RTT) performance. The role involves monitoring production machinery, optimizing equipment settings and changeovers, supporting basic maintenance, and coaching operators on production standards.

PRODUCTION ENGINEER

Qualifications:

• Male applicants only.
• Must possess a valid JFT-Basic certificate or JLPT N4 or higher.
• Must have a valid SSW Food and Beverage Manufacturing Prometric certificate.
• Candidates without the required Prometric certificate may be considered if willing to take the SSW Food and Beverage Manufacturing Prometric examination.
• Candidates who require additional Japanese language preparation must be willing to undergo a 6-month Japanese language proficiency class.
• Strong interest in production processes, machinery, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to analyze production data and identify process losses.
• Knowledge of basic machine maintenance practices is an advantage.
• Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and email, are required.
• Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to coach and work effectively with production operators and line teams.
• Physically fit and capable of working in a manufacturing environment.
• Willing to learn the Japanese language and adapt to Japanese workplace practices.

Responsibilities:

• Identify, prioritize, and eliminate process losses using data-driven analysis to improve line performance.
• Support the production line in consistently achieving Run To Target (RTT) performance.
• Operate and monitor production machinery and upstream processes to ensure stable, efficient, and safe production.
• Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Define, maintain, and manage equipment Centerlines (CL) to ensure consistent machine performance.
• Lead the standardization and optimization of Changeovers (CO) to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
• Identify equipment and process-related issues and coordinate with Maintenance when technical support is required.
• Apply basic machine maintenance practices, including greasing, lubrication, and checking for loose bolts.
• Monitor equipment conditions and report abnormalities or potential failures.
• Coach operators and line teams on proper machine operation and process standards.
• Train team members on equipment changes, standardized procedures, and production requirements.
• Maintain basic production records and performance data using email and Microsoft Excel.
• Support initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, process stability, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure production activities comply with company quality, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to resolve line performance issues.
• Perform other production engineering and technical duties assigned by management.
