Paradisiac Village Company Limited is seeking an experienced Plumber for an overseas employment opportunity in Jamaica. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures, responding to urgent plumbing emergencies, and ensuring all work complies with applicable building regulations and safety requirements.
PLUMBER
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Proven experience in plumbing installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of water supply, drainage, sewer, and plumbing systems.
- Skilled in repairing pipes, clearing blocked drains, and installing plumbing fixtures.
- Experience inspecting and maintaining water heaters, sewer lines, pipes, valves, and other plumbing components.
- Ability to diagnose plumbing problems and perform appropriate repairs efficiently.
- Capable of responding to emergency plumbing situations, including major leaks and burst pipes.
- Knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, materials, fittings, and installation methods.
- Good understanding of applicable plumbing codes, building regulations, workplace safety requirements, and proper use of PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate work orders and material records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding plumbing and maintenance work.
- Able to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking, adaptable, and willing to comply with company and site requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect water heaters, sewer lines, pipes, plumbing fixtures, and installations regularly to identify potential problems and prevent leaks or failures.
- Install, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, sewer, and plumbing systems.
- Repair broken, damaged, or leaking pipes and plumbing connections.
- Clear blocked drains, toilets, sinks, and other drainage systems.
- Install, replace, and repair faucets, toilets, sinks, showers, water heaters, valves, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Conduct plumbing work for tenant move-ins, property renovations, repairs, and maintenance requirements.
- Respond promptly to emergency plumbing call-outs involving major leaks, burst pipes, blocked drains, and other urgent problems.
- Diagnose plumbing problems and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce plumbing failures, water damage, and service interruptions.
- Test repaired and newly installed plumbing systems for leaks, proper water flow, drainage, and functionality.
- Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, pipe-cutting equipment, testing instruments, and plumbing equipment safely.
- Ensure all plumbing repairs, installations, and adjustments comply with applicable building regulations, plumbing codes, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with property managers, maintenance personnel, contractors, tenants, and other site personnel regarding plumbing requirements.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and properly dispose of removed materials and waste.
- Maintain plumbing tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Record completed work orders, repairs, inspections, materials used, and other maintenance activities.
- Monitor and track plumbing materials, fixtures, tools, and inventory requirements.
- Report major plumbing issues, recurring problems, material shortages, and repair requirements to management.
- Provide recommendations for plumbing repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
