Aureol Global Connections is seeking qualified and experienced Plant Fitters / Welders for an overseas work opportunity in Ireland. The successful candidates will service, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot heavy plant machinery and commercial vehicles, while performing welding and fabrication work to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational.
PLANT FITTER / WELDER
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Plant Fitter or Heavy Plant Maintenance Technician.
- Strong welding and metal fabrication skills.
- Experience with MIG and MMA welding.
- Excellent knowledge of excavators, dumpers, lorries, and other heavy plant machinery.
- Experience maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles and lorries.
- Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, diesel, and mechanical faults.
- Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, and plant servicing.
- Ability to inspect, repair, replace, and adjust mechanical and hydraulic components.
- Good understanding of construction plant machinery and equipment maintenance.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely operate welding machines, grinders, cutting tools, hand tools, and workshop equipment.
- Good understanding of construction plant health and safety procedures.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Age requirement: 25–45 years old.
- Physically fit and capable of working with heavy machinery and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to follow company policies, safety regulations, maintenance procedures, and supervisor instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Service, maintain, inspect, and repair heavy plant machinery and construction equipment.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe and operational.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic methods.
- Repair and maintain excavators, dumpers, lorries, and other heavy plant equipment.
- Inspect machinery for worn, damaged, defective, or unsafe components.
- Remove and replace worn or damaged mechanical, hydraulic, and other equipment components.
- Perform MIG and MMA welding for plant repairs and fabrication work.
- Carry out general welding, metal fabrication, cutting, grinding, and repair activities.
- Fabricate and modify metal components as required for equipment repairs.
- Repair cracks, brackets, frames, guards, buckets, attachments, and other metal components where applicable.
- Inspect hydraulic systems, hoses, cylinders, pumps, valves, and related components for leaks or faults.
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and other plant equipment.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance problems before breakdowns occur.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, lifting equipment, and workshop machinery safely.
- Carry out repairs and adjustments according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
- Test repaired machinery and equipment to confirm proper operation before returning it to service.
- Complete accurate maintenance records, service reports, inspection records, and repair documentation.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
- Follow proper procedures for handling machinery, welding equipment, fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids, and other workshop materials.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all workplace health and safety requirements.
- Report major equipment defects, additional repair requirements, and safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with operators, mechanics, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Perform other plant maintenance, fitting, welding, and fabrication duties assigned by management.
