PLANNING ENGINEER

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Professional certification in project planning or scheduling using Primavera P6.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in multidisciplinary construction projects.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use construction projects.
• Strong background in project scheduling, progress monitoring, and schedule management across civil, architectural, and MEP works.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory; experience with MS Project or equivalent planning software is required.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for schedule analysis, reporting, and data management.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, project sequencing, critical path analysis, resource planning, and earned value management.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and schedule-related contractual provisions.
• PMI-SP, PMP, or Primavera P6 Certified Professional certifications are preferred.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple project schedules and meet demanding deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 for large-scale retail, commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use construction projects covering civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Prepare detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity sequencing, resource allocation plans, baseline schedules, milestone schedules, and critical path analyses.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure project schedules are accurate, achievable, and aligned with contractual requirements.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress against approved schedules, identifying delays, risks, and deviations.
• Prepare progress reports, schedule updates, look-ahead schedules, recovery plans, S-curves, histograms, Gantt charts, and other planning reports for management and client submissions.
• Conduct schedule variance analysis, identify critical activities, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
• Update project schedules based on actual site progress, design revisions, change orders, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to align material deliveries, equipment mobilization, and resource availability with construction schedules.
• Support manpower planning, resource leveling, and equipment scheduling to optimize productivity and project performance.
• Evaluate the impact of design changes, variations, and unforeseen conditions on project timelines and assist in preparing extension-of-time (EOT) claims.
• Perform schedule risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays.
• Participate in planning meetings, progress reviews, and coordination sessions with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contractual scheduling requirements, milestone commitments, reporting standards, and maintain accurate planning documentation and schedule records.
