Franklin Smith Limited is seeking experienced Pipe Welders / Fitters to join its team in New Zealand. The successful candidates will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, welding, installing, and repairing piping systems for commercial and industrial projects while ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and workplace safety regulations.

Pipe Welder / Fitter

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of overseas experience as a Pipe Welder / Fitter or in a similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge and practical trade skills in pipe fitting and welding.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans, blueprints, specifications, and safety procedures.
• Good spoken and written English communication skills.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Safety-conscious, reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, fit, assemble, and install piping systems, valves, fittings, and related components.
• Perform welding on pipes and pipe assemblies using approved welding techniques and procedures.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, piping isometrics, and project specifications.
• Measure, cut, bevel, align, and prepare pipes for welding and installation.
• Inspect welded joints and piping systems to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
• Carry out maintenance, repair, and replacement of damaged piping systems when required.
• Follow workplace health and safety regulations, welding procedures, and quality control standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Maintain tools, welding equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
