PAINTER

Qualifications:

• Gender: Male only.
• Age: 25–50 years old.
• Education: Secondary School Certificate or equivalent; a vocational or trade certificate in painting is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in painting, automotive refinishing, or a related field.
• Previous experience in the GCC region, particularly in fleet maintenance, transport, or heavy equipment workshops, is preferred.
• Experience as a panel beater and painter is required or strongly preferred based on the employer’s stated skill requirements.
• Knowledge of automotive body repair, surface preparation, paint mixing, color matching, spray painting, and refinishing techniques.
• Ability to operate spray guns, sanding tools, compressors, and other workshop equipment.
• Familiarity with different paint types, primers, coatings, and finishing materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to identify paint defects and perform necessary repairs or refinishing.
• Knowledge of workshop safety procedures and proper handling of paints and chemicals.
• Ability to work independently and cooperate effectively with a team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare vehicle bodies, panels, equipment, and other surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and removing rust or old paint.
• Perform surface repairs, filling, smoothing, and priming to ensure proper paint adhesion and a uniform finish.
• Mix and match paint colors according to specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
• Apply paint, primers, sealers, and protective coatings using spray guns and other appropriate painting equipment.
• Carry out painting and refinishing work on fleet vehicles, transport units, and heavy equipment.
• Coordinate with panel beaters and other workshop personnel to complete body repair and painting tasks.
• Inspect painted surfaces for defects, including uneven finishes, scratches, bubbles, and color inconsistencies, and perform corrective work when necessary.
• Operate and maintain spray guns, sanding tools, compressors, and other workshop equipment safely.
• Follow established procedures for paint preparation, application, drying, curing, and finishing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the painting area and ensure proper storage of paints, solvents, and other materials.
• Follow workplace safety procedures when handling paints, chemicals, and potentially hazardous materials.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and comply with workshop safety and environmental requirements.
• Complete assigned jobs within the required time frame while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
