Grapecare LTD. is seeking qualified and experienced Metal Workers / Machinists to work in the Czech Republic. The successful candidates will operate conventional, non-CNC machine tools to manufacture and process metal components according to technical drawings and required specifications. The role requires strong practical machining skills, the ability to independently select appropriate cutting tools and machining procedures, and experience working with heavy metalworking equipment.

METAL WORKER / MACHINIST

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of professional experience in conventional (non-CNC) metal machining.
• Proven experience operating conventional machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and boring machines.
• Ability to operate a conventional lathe up to 800 mm diameter is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of machine programming and conventional machine setup.
• Ability to independently select suitable cutting tools and determine appropriate machining procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of metalworking processes, measurements, dimensions, and machining tolerances.
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments and inspection tools.
• Knowledge of proper workplace safety procedures when operating heavy machinery.
• Ability to tie reinforcing bars (rebars) is an advantage.
• Experience operating an overhead crane is an advantage.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on metalworking and machining duties.
• Good attention to detail, accuracy, and quality workmanship.
• Responsible, reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a production team.

Responsibilities:

• Operate conventional, non-CNC machine tools to machine and process metal components.
• Operate bed-type milling machines for various metal machining applications.
• Operate conventional lathes, including machines capable of handling workpieces up to 800 mm in diameter.
• Operate horizontal boring machines for precision machining of metal components.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and machining specifications.
• Measure and mark metal components accurately before and during machining.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, machine settings, and machining procedures based on the workpiece and required specifications.
• Program or set conventional machines according to job requirements.
• Independently determine suitable machining methods and sequences.
• Perform turning, milling, boring, drilling, and other conventional machining operations as required.
• Check finished components using appropriate measuring tools and instruments.
• Ensure machined parts meet specified dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Identify machining defects, dimensional deviations, and equipment issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform basic machine setup, tool changes, adjustments, and routine checks.
• Properly secure and position metal workpieces before machining operations.
• Follow established production procedures, technical instructions, and workplace safety requirements.
• Maintain machines, tools, and work areas in clean and safe working condition.
• Handle metal materials and components safely using appropriate lifting and handling procedures.
• Assist with tying or securing reinforcing bars (rebars) when required.
• Operate an overhead crane when qualified and assigned.
• Report production, equipment, material, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Work closely with other machinists, metal workers, technicians, and production personnel to meet production requirements.
