Kitchen Helper
Qualifications:
- Male or Female, 25–40 years old.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a modern professional kitchen.
- Knowledgeable in kitchen sanitation, hygiene, and food preparation.
- High school or vocational graduate.
- NC II certification is an advantage.
- Non-smoker.
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, both spoken and understood.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, food preparation procedures, and safety standards.
- Physically fit and capable of standing, walking, lifting, and performing kitchen duties for extended periods.
- Strong teamwork, communication, cleanliness, and organizational skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, responsible, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Wash, peel, cut, slice, chop, portion, and prepare ingredients according to instructions.
- Assist in preparing vegetables, meat, seafood, sauces, garnishes, and other food items as assigned.
- Support chefs during meal preparation and service to ensure timely completion of orders.
- Prepare ingredients and maintain proper mise en place before kitchen service.
- Follow recipes, preparation instructions, portioning standards, and food quality requirements.
- Clean and sanitize workstations, preparation areas, utensils, equipment, and kitchen surfaces.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, and other kitchen equipment as required.
- Properly store food ingredients and prepared items according to food safety procedures.
- Check food supplies and report shortages, damaged products, or other issues to the supervisor.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food deliveries and kitchen supplies.
- Maintain proper labeling and storage of ingredients to preserve freshness and prevent contamination.
- Follow proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Help maintain cleanliness and order throughout the kitchen, storage areas, and related facilities.
- Dispose of food waste and other kitchen waste properly.
- Handle knives, kitchen equipment, cleaning chemicals, and other tools safely.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties as assigned.
- Work efficiently with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen personnel during busy service periods.
- Maintain a professional, responsible, and cooperative attitude at all times.
- Perform other kitchen support duties assigned by the chef or management.
