MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role is required.
• Must hold a High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Must have a Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, building services, and industrial equipment.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to perform technical calculations related to machinery and systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.

Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain piping systems for water, gas, and sewage.
• Install and service heating and cooling systems, faucets, toilets, and other building fixtures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems.
• Assemble and dismantle machinery, equipment, and mechanical components based on technical instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Perform basic engineering calculations, including pressure loss calculations for steam lines.
• Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as boilers, turbines, motors, pumps, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Install and maintain electrical components in machinery, including wiring and circuit boards.
• Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, part replacements, and safety checks on equipment.
• Record operational data such as temperature, pressure, and system measurements.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on mechanical systems and equipment.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Prepare maintenance reports and documentation of all repairs and services performed.
• Collaborate with AC, Electrical, and other technical departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations.
• Train other employees on proper equipment use and maintenance procedures.
