CPC Engineering Pty Ltd is hiring experienced Mechanical Fitters for industrial and fixed plant maintenance projects in Australia. The company is looking for highly skilled tradespeople with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of heavy industrial equipment.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates experienced in mining, construction, or large-scale industrial plant maintenance.
Mechanical Fitter
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Fitter.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Extensive experience in installation, repair, and maintenance of fixed plant or heavy industrial equipment.
- Must have completed at least 4 years of high school and 1 year of college or vocational training.
- No minimum educational attainment required if experience is sufficient.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial maintenance practices.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, crushers, grinding mills, feeders, conveyors, and other fixed plant machinery.
- Perform fault finding, troubleshooting, and inspections of mechanical systems and components.
- Assist in assembly, installation, and commissioning of industrial equipment.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all mechanical work is completed safely and according to engineering standards.
- Support shutdown maintenance activities and equipment overhauls.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workplace safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
- Record maintenance activities and report defects or system failures.
