Aureol Global Connections is seeking skilled Mechanical Fitters with Excavator Operator experience to work on civil engineering projects in Ireland. This is a dual-role position requiring candidates to safely operate excavators while performing mechanical repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance on excavators and other construction plant equipment.

Mechanical Fitter (Excavator Operator Experience)

Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating tracked excavators.
• Strong mechanical fitting experience, particularly with construction plant and heavy equipment.
• Experience working safely around live underground services.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults on excavators and plant equipment.
• Good understanding of hydraulic and diesel systems.
• Practical knowledge of excavator servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Valid excavator certification or license.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform both machine operation and mechanical fitting duties.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a construction team.
• Physically fit and capable of working in construction site conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Operate tracked excavators safely and efficiently on civil engineering and construction projects.
• Perform excavation works for drainage, utilities, and underground services.
• Carry out ground reduction, earthworks, and site preparation activities.
• Dig around live underground services with care and precision.
• Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on excavators and construction plant.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults affecting excavators and other plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and carry out necessary mechanical repairs.
• Minimize equipment downtime through effective maintenance and timely repairs.
• Perform daily machine inspections and identify mechanical or safety issues.
• Complete machine inspection, servicing, and maintenance records accurately.
• Follow approved operating procedures and manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Work safely around underground utilities and live services.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
• Comply with all site Health & Safety procedures and construction regulations.
• Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, operators, and other construction workers as required.
