Aureol Global Connections is seeking experienced Jetvac Mechanics / Hydrovac Fitter Mechanics to maintain and repair Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), including vacuum trucks and hydrovac units, in Ireland. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing complex mechanical and hydraulic faults, and ensuring all vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

Jetvac Mechanic/Hydrovac Fitter Mechanic

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Jetvac Mechanic, Hydrovac Mechanic, or similar role.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), particularly vacuum trucks or hydrovac equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, and heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Skilled in diagnosing mechanical faults using diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment.
• Experience repairing transmissions, suspension systems, steering systems, braking systems, and hydraulic components.
• Ability to read technical manuals, hydraulic diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual mechanical work safely.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance, scheduled servicing, and repairs on Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), including vacuum trucks and hydrovac units.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Inspect, repair, overhaul, and replace diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, suspension systems, steering systems, braking systems, and drivetrain components.
• Service and repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, vacuum systems, and high-pressure equipment used in hydrovac and jetvac operations.
• Perform routine inspections to identify wear, damage, and potential mechanical failures before they affect operations.
• Carry out testing and commissioning after repairs to verify vehicle performance and operational safety.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and manufacturer service documentation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and repair documentation.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, workplace safety regulations, and company maintenance procedures.
• Maintain workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Coordinate with supervisors, fleet managers, and operators to minimize equipment downtime.
• Perform emergency breakdown repairs when required.
• Carry out other mechanical and maintenance duties assigned by management.
