Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Drafting, or a related field, subject to the employer’s requirements.
- Relevant experience in mechanical drafting, technical drawing, or industrial engineering documentation is preferred.
- Experience in a cement manufacturing plant, industrial facility, or heavy equipment environment is an advantage.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, particularly AutoCAD or equivalent drafting tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, engineering diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, equipment layouts, fabrication details, and installation drawings.
- Familiarity with industrial machinery and equipment such as conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, crushers, and mills is an advantage.
- Understanding of mechanical drawing conventions, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, and revision procedures.
- Ability to prepare accurate 2D drawings and update existing technical documentation.
- Knowledge of as-built drawings and drawing revision control.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.
- Good analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with engineers, maintenance personnel, and other technical staff.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to meet drawing deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and follow technical instructions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, interpret, review, and update mechanical drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Develop mechanical layouts and detailed drawings for industrial equipment, machinery, and plant components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment assembly diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Assist in preparing drawings for mechanical installations, modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Produce and revise 2D mechanical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Prepare equipment layouts, component details, fabrication drawings, and assembly diagrams as required.
- Review existing mechanical drawings and verify their accuracy against actual site conditions.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers, maintenance technicians, supervisors, and other departments to clarify drawing requirements.
- Incorporate approved engineering revisions and site modifications into existing drawings.
- Maintain updated mechanical drawings, equipment diagrams, and technical records.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings after installation, modification, or repair work.
- Check dimensions, tolerances, component arrangements, and technical details for accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable engineering standards, company procedures, and project specifications.
- Organize and maintain drawing files, revision histories, and document control records.
- Assist maintenance teams by providing mechanical diagrams and technical drawings for equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Support the preparation of drawings for conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, crushers, mills, and other cement plant equipment, as applicable.
- Review technical information supplied by equipment manufacturers and incorporate relevant details into drawings.
- Identify drawing discrepancies and report technical issues to the responsible engineer or supervisor.
- Follow document control procedures to ensure that current and approved drawing versions are used.
- Comply with company safety policies and site requirements when conducting inspections or collecting technical information.
- Perform other mechanical drafting, diagram preparation, and technical documentation duties assigned by management.
