General Machinery Pte Ltd (GM Motors) is seeking experienced Light Vehicle Mechanics to join its team in Fiji. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining light vehicles to ensure optimum performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Light Vehicle Mechanic

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic is required.
• Must have good English communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle servicing.
• Experience in spare parts identification and workshop operations is an advantage.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in light vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, routine servicing, and major repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered light vehicles.
• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering components, cooling systems, and other mechanical parts.
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems, including batteries, charging systems, lighting, and wiring.
• Conduct vehicle inspections to identify maintenance requirements and recommend necessary repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair reports, and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools, equipment, and spare parts.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and workplace safety procedures during all repair and maintenance activities.
• Work collaboratively with workshop supervisors and team members to complete repairs efficiently and minimize vehicle downtime.
